Right Click Speed Test

Only the right mouse button counts here. Handy for Minecraft block placing and bridging, or to check that your right button registers every press.

Click trace: each spike is one input, its height the instant rate; the line is your rolling 1-second CPS.

How to do it

  1. Put the cursor over the grid; right-clicking there will not open the browser menu.
  2. Use the fingertip of your middle finger, palm relaxed on the mouse.
  3. If you bridge with a drag or butterfly technique, test that too; the same rules apply.

What the test tells you

Right-click speed matters wherever you place blocks, eat or use items quickly. In Minecraft, bridging techniques like god bridging and breezily bridging depend on fast, even right clicks.

Most people right-click noticeably slower than they left-click because the middle finger gets less practice. A gap of 1 to 2 CPS is normal.

If some right clicks do not register or a single press shows as two, the switch may be worn. The double click test can confirm it.

Questions

How do I test right click speed?

Right-click as fast as you can inside the test area. Only right clicks are counted, and the browser menu is blocked there.

What is a good right click CPS?

5 to 7 CPS is typical. Players who bridge a lot often reach 8 to 10.

Why is my right click slower than my left?

Your middle finger usually gets less practice and less strength training than your index finger. It improves with practice.

My right click double clicks. Is it broken?

Possibly. Worn switches can bounce and register two clicks. Use the double click test to check.
